- Six of my top 10 most popular blog posts were written in years past. I think that shows the lasting value of a blog. Either that, or my writing has gotten worse.
- The big hit of the year was my "American Idol Scandal" blog post, which I wrote immediately after the first show of the season. Everyone loves a good scandal. Lightning did not strike twice for my "Last Comic Standing Scandal" post, which is an excellent read.
- Another popular and controversial blog post involved ranking the top pro wrestlers in MMA, which I really need to update now that Brock Lesnar holds the UFC Heavyweight Championship.
- I also wrote some excellent posts that flew under the radar. MMA fans skipped over my insightful "I Think I Could Beat Kimbo Slice" post which correctly predicted Kimbo would lose his next fight. The touching series "Tribute to a Strong Mother" and "Celebrate the Living" shows me at my most vulnerable. The true story of receiving a random check for $100,000 is good for a laugh. And if I get some more response from my "How to be a Comedian" post, I just might finish it.
- I'm considering spinning off two of my most popular sections - funny songs and Selected Hilarity - into separate websites for 2009. I've had great success spinning off my funny employee awards website after initial success on this site.
- My homepage was only the 7th most popular page of my site in 2008. My advice to web designers: consider every page to be your home page and make sure there is a clear call to action on each page of your site.
- I'm planning a huge redesign for Q2 of this year. Stay tuned for some exciting changes coming your way!
